You may have been reflecting since our last post on the final question posed: 'what do you stand to lose by not committing and engaging with a Mindfulness practice?'
Now, what if I told you that the answer is, in some sense, everything.
Just consider your experience today.
What is the fundamental element that links each and every experience you’ve had today and, in fact, every experience you will ever have?
If you were happy earlier today because you received some good news about a project you're involved with – that experience was in your mind.
If you were anxious today before going into a meeting or giving a presentation – that too was in your mind.
When you see your loved ones later today and feel warmth and love and joy towards them – this is your mind.
When you receive an unexpected email tonight about an issue that needs resolving immediately and you feel frustrated, annoyed, embarrassed or angry – yes, you guessed it, this too is your mind.
Given our mind really is the wellspring of our well-being and also the genesis of all of our needless suffering, ask yourself:
What could possibly be more important than sitting and training your mind?
